PAC MUD polyanionic cellulose is a high-quality, water-soluble polymer designed to control fluid loss and increase viscosity in war-base muds.

Applications

PAC Mud controls fluid loss and provides viscosity in freshwater, seawater, KCI and salt muds. It forms a thin, resilient , low permeability filter cake which minimizes the potential for differential sticking and the invasion of filtrate and mud solids into permeable formations.

Method of Addition

PAC Mud is effective in low concentrations, with the normal fluid-loss treatment ranging from 0.25 to 1 lb/bbl (0.71 to 2.85 kg/m). PAC Mud should be added slowly at the hopper or mixing system to present clumping or “fish eyes”.

Packaging and Storage

Pac Mud (9410019) is packaged in 50 lb/22.7 kg multi-walled bags. Pac Mud (9410052) is packaged in a 28.7 lb/13 kg pail.
